Tördal Family 2018

Every session, I ask an essential question before the actual photo shoot.

What do you most want to capture in your portrait session?

            Amanda's reply was:

“Our little slice of heaven in Nome.”

She naturally included a lot more details, but that was what stuck with me when going to their home.  The reason for her inquiry was to capture portraits of their twins for their first birthday. When she first emailed me, the tundra was newly exposed after months of being buried in the snow. By the time of the shoot, the sun was up for nearly 20 hours each day, the green leaves arrived just in time to create the perfect backdrop for their photos. The sun was high in the sky, and the breeze kept the mosquitos away.   This location is just in front of their house. Their future playground. This age is so much fun because they are so curious and attentive, and easily distracted! I loved capturing their little minds go about their environment. The love they hold for their parents was evident with every smile they gave as Patrik and Amanda stood behind me to catch their attention.  The best part about the session was watching them as parents. Their boys will be great people.
