NAHM Family

Quyanna.

Quyanna to all of you reading this.

To all who followed along with my Native American Heritage Month posts. Quyanna to all those who "liked" and commented on the Facebook posts.

To all who started a conversation with me or even your friends and family about the subject.

To all those who shared with me your traditional names.

Quyanna (thank you) to all those who support me.

I loved being able to share a little piece of my clients heritage.  I loved learning more about you. I feel so honored by those who shared with me with their Native names. I will definitely be continuing to ask future clients their traditional names. I loved being able to share a piece of my heritage by sharing Inupiat words.

It was hard to open up about my family history. I felt so vulnerable. I still feel vulnerable. I encourage you to learn your family history, to learn your native language.  Be supportive to those who are in the midst of learning their traditional ways.

Here is a compiled slideshow of all the posts from this month.
